Options 38

Options 38 is a Lewis-Palmer School District 38 selective high school program designed for current District #38 students who desire a specialized and personalized learning environment. Options 38 is located in the Lewis-Palmer High School building and staffed with three full-time teachers with an enrollment of up to 60 sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Our instructional efforts are rooted in district and state standards, and meet the District #38 graduation requirements.  Course offerings include Math, Science, English, Social Studies, Physical Education, Art, and Experiential courses.  When appropriate, students may enroll in on-line courses, earn credit for working a job, and may enroll in traditional courses at LPHS or PRHS. The Options 38 Team is dedicated to providing an instructional, community atmosphere with a focus on personalized instruction.

Who might benefit from the Options 38 Program?
  • Students who want to focus on three to four courses each nine-week quarter.
  • Students who want to complete homework with peer and teacher support; most work is completed in class.
  • Students who want a personalized instructional setting with more one on one teacher contact.
  • Students who may be more comfortable in a small educational environment.
  • Students who want to graduate early in order to pursue post-secondary opportunities.
  • Students behind in credits and have the motivation to take advantage of additional credit earning opportunities.
Students interested in attending Options 38 High School:
  • Must be currently enrolled in either Lewis-Palmer or Palmer Ridge High School.
  • Must complete our application packet and provide counselor and teacher input forms.
Once these requirements have been met, the Admin/Counseling team at each high school will review all applications to verify that Options 38 is an appropriate educational placement. If the application is deemed appropriate, an interview will be scheduled with the student and at least one parent.  Students are placed on our waiting list and considered for enrollment on a space available basis at the beginning of the next nine week grading period. (Approximately August 20th, October 10th, December 10th, May 20th)
